Director of Financial Grants & Contracts
Simons Rengifo is part of the Sponsored Programs Administration for the New York University Financial Operations and Treasury department.
There, he manages the Universities financial grants and contract portfolios which include execution of projects, billing and financial, reporting, receivables analysis and collection. He is also responsible for compliance activities and serves as the primary liaison for all audits, including the annual A-133 audit. As a member of the New York University Charter Committee, he ensures financial policies and the department’s mission statement meets the Universities primary objectives.
Before his arrival at NYU, he has worked with both the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative and the International Planned Parenthood Federation where he managed state, local, private foundation, and federal funds at a financial project manager level. He took the lead in creating conceptual and tactical work plans, oversees day-to-day fiscal management of all grants activities and projects. He has partnered with IPPF & IAVI CFO’s to design contracts database, cash forecasting, and completion of the companies finance user guide. With experience in handling over $250 million of grant funding his determination, ambition, and perseverance has helped him to excel in grants and contracts at a financial level.
The United States military means something more to him. The work being produced to help veterans has given him the honor and joy out of his career. Growing up with military relatives
has helped him grow as a person because he makes sure his determination reflects in his work as he sees the military as his own family. As he holds his values dear to him, one must always take care of his family.
